Expository comes from “expose” and expose means to disclose or reveal something to others. Similar to that, in an expository essay, your main goal should be to explain and inform your reader about a certain topic by providing such extensive details so they can easily understand it.

          

Rhetorical Analysis Essay

The basic goal of writing a rhetorical analysis essay is to figure out what the author’s objective was, the tools and techniques they used, and their effectiveness.

You cannot provide your opinion about the author’s argument – whether or not you agree with him, instead, your focus is on how the author made an argument and whether the approach used was successful or not.
